Filipino Martial arts
The reality in the streets… is that there is no referees, no judges, no rules, no soft floor, very rarely a one-on-one fight and a weapon will almost always be utilized! In this type of realistic combat environment, Filipino Martial Arts address all these issues; this is one of the most comprehensive styles in the world. Guro/Coach Ray Yee, our head FMA instructor has been teaching FMA since 1998 and has been a 6th Degree Black Belt in Filipino Martial Arts under Grand Master Christopher J. Pettrilli since 2007, 5th Degree Black Belt in Filipino Martial Arts under Supreme Grand Master Ciriaco "Cacoy" Cañete since 2008, Lakan Guro under Master Daniel Inosanto since 2010 and a Instructor 2nd Level under Guro Christopher Clarke since 2004.
We offer a well-structured Filipino Martial Arts program for beginning, intermediate and advanced students as well as instructor certifications. The Filipino Martial Arts course at ABQ Kickboxing-Luttrell/Yee MMA is based on the Inosanto/ Lacoste system as taught by Guro Dan Inosanto, Cacoy Doce Pares as taught by Supreme Grand Master Ciriaco "Cacoy" Cañete and Grand Master Christopher J. Pettrilli. You will not find a more comprehensive Filipino Martial Arts class in the New Mexico.
Unlike most martial art systems, the Filipino Martial Arts (Kali, Escrima and Arnis) teach both weaponry and empty hands together because the principles are common to both and are inter-changeable. Armed or unarmed, the Filipino Martial Arts student learns to relate to any situation using the same concepts of body angling, positioning and flowing. Depending on speed, footwork and skill rather than brute strength, the fluid and practical Filipino Martial Arts are probably the most comprehensive fighting systems known to man.
Now this formerly top-secret fighting art is available to all ABQ Kickboxing-Luttrell/Yee MMA Students/Members
